World-leading airline training and pilot resourcing solutions company, CTC Aviation Group, today announced that it will be delivering an airline pilot training programme exclusively for Indian students. CTC has a long established reputation for working closely with airline partners to supply carefully selected, fully trained pilots thus securing placements for programme graduates.
The announcement was made by CTC’s Chief Executive Officer Rob Clarke during a UK Government market visit led by Prime Minister David Cameron to India this week: “We are actively engaged with a number of Indian airlines to launch an airline pilot training course that is tailored to suit their specific needs and we have secured agreement from at least one Indian airline to consider these pilots post the training. This is a major breakthrough into the Indian market for CTC.”
CTC, with Crew Training Centres in both the United Kingdom and New Zealand, recently completed a management buyout with UK private equity company ‘Inflexion’. As a result, CTC has expedited its plans to further develop the company’s global reach. The Group already has a significant foothold across Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific and Australasia and has been working closely with Park Institutions of Coimbatore on plans to open a flight training facility in the region to support the new programme.
“As a pilot training organisation to the world’s airlines, we are a global business by nature and India, as one of the fastest growing aviation market places, is a truly exciting, vibrant and important place for us to be as a business. We see huge potential for the whole market place, but in particular the low cost carriers who want to focus their business model on their core revenue generating activity of flying passengers around their network.”
CTC’s world renowned career development programme for tomorrow’s airline pilots ‘CTC Wings’ is recognised and used by some of the world’s leading airlines including British Airways, easyJet, The Jetstar Group and Qatar Airways. CTC currently delivers command training for experienced pilots already working for IndiGo, India’s largest and fastest growing low cost carrier and ‘CTC Wings India’ further enhances the company’s growing international reach and training portfolio.
According to 10 Downing Street, this week’s UK Trade and Investment market visit to India is the largest trade delegation taken on an overseas trip by a Prime Minister. Delegates include senior Government Ministers and C level officers from some of the UK and India’s leading commercial and education establishments.
UK Trade and Investment Minister Lord Green said: “We are on track to double our trade with India by 2015. India has the potential to become one of the largest markets in the world. CTC is rightly recognising that they can reap the rewards of looking outside Europe for trading partners, selling goods and services to high growth markets outside the EU.
“Government is clear that we must build deeper ties with India. This means supporting and encouraging a range of companies, both large and small, to do business there in the future, and I am delighted that CTC is part of the delegation for this trip.”
Captain Clarke said “We are looking forward to cementing our relationships with the airlines and regulatory bodies in India and this market visit will undoubtedly help facilitate processes that over the mid to long term will support our expansion into this market place.”
CTC plans to commence marketing and selection for the initial intake of 10 Indian nationals during the first quarter of 2013. Successful candidates will train in CTC’s world class facilities in the United Kingdom and New Zealand.
CTC is also developing a pilot retraining program for the unemployed pool of pilots in India. As a high quality “single point of provision” company, CTC can provide everything that an expanding airline might need from selection, through training to the actual provision of the aircrew and ongoing training for qualified and experienced pilots.
